EMS Options

  • EMS Light: Low Cost – Self Managed Support
  • EMS Business: Fully Supported backed by Actian Services during normal Business Hours (09.00 – 17.30 Monday to Friday)
  • EMS Critical: Fully Supported by Actian Services and managed 24 x 7 x 365
  • EMS Cloud or Hosted: Actian fully manages your system and delivers it back to you as a Managed Service

EMS Light

Is a low cost implementation of the Enterprise Management Appliance (EMA) that will automatically notify your own support team, 24 x 7 x 365, of any new or potential issues enabling them to take remedial action to avoid any costly down time. With Actian’s EMS Light option, the customers own support team will have the responsibility of resolving any issues highlighted by the EMA. The EMA can normally be installed in one day on either your own hardware (physical or virtual) or we can provide you with a small plug and play server.

EMS Business

This option extends the ‘Light’ implementation to incorporate notifying the Actian Service Desk immediately any issue is identified. Actian support will then fully investigate the event and commence the appropriate resolution. The support team can opt to resolve the customer’s issues by remotely connecting to the system using the customers preferred remote access solution. Although the EMA will monitor your system 24 x 7 x 365 the Actian support team will normally only resolve any issues during the local standard business day of 09.00 to 17.30 Monday to Friday, excluding national and bank Holidays.

EMS Critical

This option provides similar support to EMS Business with the addition that the Actian support team will commence resolution of any Severity 1 software issues immediately they are notified 24 x 7 x 365. All non Severity 1 issues will be managed on the next normal business day. Any hardware Severity 1 issues will immediately notified to the customers own support team.

EMS Cloud or Hosted

Actian Services is able to take responsibility for delivering a stable and reliable Ingres or Vectorwise service to the business, leaving the customer free to focus on their core business activities. Actian can offer bespoke managed solutions, either on the customer’s premises or with an external hosting provider.
