Course Style

This course is aimed at delegates who will be responsible for managing an Ingres database and have previous similar experience with Oracle.

It covers basic aspects of planning, installation, configuration, and day to day running of the Ingres installation. It also covers basic aspects of database administration including: managing database objects such as tables, indexes, backup and recovery; table maintenance and optimisation.

The course employs lectures, demonstrations and practicals to reinforce the course contents.

The course does not focus on a particular operating system but uses examples for the Linux, Unix, Windows and VMS operating systems throughout the course material.

This course is for Database and System Administrators with previous Oracle experience who are responsible for the maintenance of Ingres databases.
